Warranty

What the manufacturer covers, what we cover, and the one condition people miss.

Manufacturer warranty

Every cylinder we sell carries the manufacturer’s warranty. The terms differ by brand and model, and the term for the cylinder itself is usually longer than for the other components. The warranty for each product is listed on its page.

Where a warranty period is shown as “—” on a product page, we have not confirmed it with the supplier yet. Ask us and we will send you the manufacturer’s documentation before you order.

The labour condition — read this one

Manufacturers only honour the labour component of a warranty when the cylinder was installed by a licensed person, in line with their installation instructions.

If a cylinder is installed by someone unlicensed, or sited in a way the manufacturer does not allow, the labour cover can be void even though the product itself is still covered. This catches people out.

Heat pump cylinders in particular have siting requirements — most need clearance above them so the anode can be inspected and replaced periodically. A unit wedged into a tight space cannot be serviced, and that is a warranty problem later.

Your rights are wider than the warranty

A manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act, not a replacement for them. Goods must be of acceptable quality and fit for purpose regardless of what a warranty document says.

Making a claim

Contact us with your invoice number and a description of the fault. We handle the claim with the manufacturer. If we installed the cylinder, our installation workmanship is covered as well.
